life first Emerged in the sea to live on earth and humans are Extincting the sea life by over fishing for money.

Sharks are important for the ecosystem and play a big role in the sea because they help remove the weak and the sick and as well as keeping competitors balance helping to ensure diversity.There are 440 different types of sharks and at least 22 deep sea creatures and many more to discover. Only 5 % of the ocean water is discovered by humans and their are 95 % left to discover.

There are 71 % of land on earth is covered by water and the other 29 % is land and countries. All sea animals that eat meat have lungs so they have to breathe oxygen but they can hold their breath for very long.Also learnt that the octopus could change shapes as well as their skin color. They camouflage from their enemies and use it to sneak up on prey.

PWC

On Tuesday and Wednesday PWC came to our school the man that came was Adam and Peter they talked to us about how to save money and the expensive and how to reduce spending and increase saving.

Then today Adam and Peter came to our class to teach us what insurance is and told us the types of insurances first was car insurance and house insurance and that shoes and i pads were contents.Adam and Peter told us what it means when someone crashes into someone and they ask for insurance that the insurance would not help them because of the rules they broke and that their speeding.

Life insurance means that they would protect them when they are struggling and that when they past they would get your funeral prepared they also told us that there was a pet insurance for your pet.
After we finished talking about our insurance Adam and Peter presented certificate for our whole class. Adam and Peter then took a picture with us before leaving.

Christchurch Terrorist attack

Christchurch terrorist attack .

On 15 of march 2019, at 1 : 40 , Friday a terrorist attack had happen in New zealand down in Christchurch. Over 50 innocent muslim people died in a mosque, an Australian man who had a machine gun , glock gun, shotgun. It was discovered that he was in new zealand for 2 years and had plan the shooting in christchurch .

He had came to New zealand because our country was kind and peace full. The Australian man was a 28 year old male. A 3 year old boy had lost his life during the attack, the man had been shooting for a good past few minutes .

A french muslim group is suing facebook because of the man had did it on live facebook. Two young muslim women had lost their two best friends in the attack. Who a not only sad but are grateful for the police department for taking care of their community .

The two young muslim Girls are going to still feel safe in new zealand and the two had commented , that their not going to let one gunman ruin their life .they are going to still stay safe in new zealand. Even when that man had shoot in a mosque .

The prime minister of new zealand Jacinda Ardern had said on News that she's not going to say the shooters name. The man came in a car and he was playing a army's song on his radio, the man had told everyone to subscribe to one of the first famous youtubers PewDiePie, the youtuber on twitter had commented on the christchurch shooting and said ‘he was discussed at him for saying his name like that.

Before he planned the attack police had gone to his mums house, she said that he was a normal boy and he had been in the Australian army and he had fourth of the isis which are muslims, and he had a lot of hatred and hated the muslim people, he came to New zealand because it was a peace full country.

why photos are important

Photos are important because if your reading a book to children and your talking about a character they won’t know what the character looks like. Photos are important so parents know what you are doing. Photos are important to show what you look like and information about your life. Photos are important because you can look back to the past and your old memories. Photos are important because they remind you of things, people, places and feelings. Photos are important because without photos you remember things if you want to look back to the past.

Photos are important because when there's someone that was in photo of the past they would be brought up and talked around so this person won’t be forgotten. Photos are important because they are your old memories that your gonna keep forever. Photo are not important because there might be bad photos about you on the internet.

Photo are important but not all the time only when a good time to take a photo when your in the future you can look at the photos from the past and then react to it you might cry , be sad , or sob and you can sell old photos depending on how long it been in the worlds time.

Photos are important Because they show a lot of good memories and that you won’t forget about you and your family having good times together in the past. Photos are important because if you forget who you are and who is your family you can look at your old memories you can remember who you are.

Hi my name is Iki and i am a year 8 student at Glenbrae School and i'm a full Niuean and I was born in New Zealand my favourite sports is soccer and softball and my favourite food is takihi it is a Niuean traditional food which is made out of pawpaw and taro peeling it layer by layer and then the coconut cream and my favourite thing i like to do is play video games at home i also like to listen to old school music .

Digital learning with Garry

Today Room 10 and i had a session at room 8 a man named Garry told us how to work or program a coded robot by telling it what to do and filling instruction for the robot we used a i pad app to control the robot and program it we also used color codes to say words it would move forward back and even go side ways.

later on Garry told us last week he was working for digital immersion a community robot center in Beautiful New Zealand Auckland he created robots for the Glenbrae school kids to learn about how robots work then he put up a video of stupid dumb robots on how they do what there programmed to do.

the robots we used was a small looking car robot our point for today was to send the robot to another full group then write a color code message a greeting unfortunately my group did not finish ours so we are going to work on it next week our objective was to debug the system when it is bunged.

Kiwi Can

On Tuesday room 10 went to kiwi can i in the morning Mr Nanuie and Mrs Kelly told room 10 to sit in a circle after they told us what is the theme which was problem solving then we did our energizer which was called human knot girls and boys were split into two groups and we had to all hold hands and try to un knot ourselves after activities and JKQ and when we finished we went back to class.

Glow in the dark with Mrs Tofa

today i learnt to how to make things glow in the dark using only water and highlighters with a green,pink,yellow color first we filled a cup half way then pulled out the ink from the highlighter for the glow Mrs Tofa and Mrs Card took photos of us using the school made glow we went into a dark room to see it glow but it only work when Mrs Card and Mrs Tofa flashed their phone light with some cellphone at us some of us wiped the highlighter on their face.

this morning room 10 went out to the school hall to do some Gymnastics we all had to take of our shoes and also socks then we first started of with a game called stuck in the mud but we have to jump on one foot and the taggers have to try and chase us.

after we played stuck in the mud we did over 7 activity first one was to hand stand and kick up after we had to spin as many times as we can after we finished all the activity we did some stretchers staring from our feet to our shoulders then so we had a game of octopus.

then at the end the man that was teaching us told all of us that he would not be hear on the next week so we all said goodbye to him but what he also said is that his boss is coming in he might to then we took our shoes and socks and room 7 came inside to do Gymnastics to.

My Holidays

In the holidays my family and I went to go to the Movies to watch Jurassic park it finished at 2 o'clock in the morning and and then the next day my family and i went to mt wellington and walk around on top of the mountain.

Then on saturdays night my older cousins took me to the matariki lights and sat on the park for over 15 minutes for the matariki fireworks chris came out then said the fireworks were staring it was loud.

On the last day of the holidays my cousin and I stayed home with my Nana and played Call of Duty Ghost for a good 2 or 3 hours later on we ate the leftovers from dinner it was yum yum noodles .

I felt happy because it was the holidays and i got to hang out with my cousin i haven't seen for months.

PWC Community

Today the PWC community came on Wednesday we read a big book called toi toi it was full of lots of stories kids make each group had a teacher to read with i was with Mrs Katana but she said to call her G for short so we read lots of stories in the book like about rugby,Rainbow sends,Ghost train,storm,Mrs told us that she was 22 years old and turning 23 next week.

Then we my group we were just in kawhia all of us were in our house groups then we all read in a group like i read first then finished up to him. Then Pelenise will go second carrying from where i finished and Mrs katana would tell us the correct words when we say it wrong.

Me and my group learn lots from the book and the pages we read some of them were short most of them where long every time on a long story we would take turns to read each full stop we get up to.

On Wednesday i learnt that you could find worms in soil Erosion or just soil some of us got stuck in our reading like they would sometimes skip the line and the words like me i read a story and i just noticed i skip a line just like Pelenise when he missed a line everyone laugh but still helped him.

friends are for

Friends are for to back you up when your in a fight or when you get hurt. well most people will treat them like their backbone which mean i got your back and all sorts of words like Friends,Bros,Mates.

Some people think different to friends like keeping secrets from them and not telling them the truth. when your friends are having trouble with any thing always help them out when you are jealous at your friend don't do anything stupid and grow a tension on it. and cause a unforgettable fight.

When you are with your friend in learning time. cooperate with your maths problems

And try work it out together in any time reading writing maths inquiry just give them a big help so they can help you when your feeling like your work is hard.

On a good day on the way to school and you see your friend say hi or sup shake hands brofist or just wave. always greet your friends with a star of the day. And when it's their birthday you can give them a present or go over to see him at his birthday.

A time when it is learning time help them explain how it works and when time is up give them a hi five or brofist at least make up a handshake to get into the mood in writing reading maths anything also when they have no lunch and when you do give them some of your lunch because sharing is caring.

Friends can also be your family like your pet your sister and brother mom dad cousin aunt uncle grandma Nan grandpa. you can even play with your friends like online games just to play on when your feeling bored take turns on a game.

Look out for each other when some older tries to take your friend help him out if a big dog attacks your friend help him out when he's having trouble with his parents talk to him help him because that's what friends are for.

But sometimes you can't help them but always just try cause that's what friends are for to help you play with incorege him when you have other friends still help them out to be like a superhero save the day make people happy.

When your mom is feeling down help her when your brother help him your sisters help your other family side help your nana when she's in the hospital care about her stay with her keep compernie.

Explanation writing

The purpose of writing is to show or explain how something actually works a state reason some phenomenon Explanations to answer questions like how or why for a how explanation or sentence is going to be like how does the pump work ? how are mountains formed and also for why it is like asking a question example why does some sticks sink and some sticks float? And why do we need food.


Explanation writing is a logical sequence that lets the reader understand much more easier and then you can finish your work faster and also explain what you felt and your emotions that gives them a clear thought to know what they are doing.


And when you use your explanation think of what you are going to write sometimes even the writer puts in some of his feelings in the story. And when you use your punctuation and full stops question marks use them while your writing instead of finishing your work and then going back and edit.


Most purposes about writing is putting in all details. like jump starting a car,licking ice cream for days use your adjectives,and writing is just like reading when you write throungth you also read to just at the same time but whispering it just normal if you try write without talking it would be in your head.


Perhaps you can even write with in you maths when somebody says a question example you could say if 2 + 3 is 5 then what is 2 x 3? See i used word and numbers as a question not like just saying what are you up two.

Characters

Characters act in a big plot of a story, my character is going to be a scientist and his partner is going to be a brainy boy the scientist name is vin and the boy will. the scientist is the brainiest man in the universe he would be able to do teleportation through different realities and dimension and he would also use a flying magnifying ship to fly as fast then a rocket.




The will would have strong sound abilities that can hear from very far away will would most times test vins test like a test subject one time vin decided to give will a listen far away pill. well will was only a middle age kid so he fort it wa a lolly and he eat it which gave him that ability vin couldn't do anything cause it was already in he could if took it out of him but he just left it.




What would make my characters so interesting is that they go in any adventures lots of destruction explosion funny moments and also sad moments vin had a wife he tested a project he tried to put her memories into a robot but when it work the robot exploded with all her memories he tried to go back in time and save her but he can't go back and see himself.

They Walk Among Us

During world war 1 was over a man name Jared he was at a age of 19 a us soldier he was born in Ireland he fort in the army for his family. his village was attacked by Germans he fort his family was getting attack it would take him 2 days to get back to his village and it took him 3 hours to get there by vehicle to get to the trenches. and if he walks back he would get shot instantly in war zone.and then fort it would be a good idea to send a message by bird he wrote his letter and tied it to the bird. but then suddenly he lets go of bird then he sees it get shot right on the shoulder unfortunately the bird was gone.




He shock his heart to see that his luck was going down when he goes home and he doesn't see his family. until a boy looks of the age at 17 name Hondill Mexican soldier came up to him and shook his hand and said good luck out there brother and Jared respond. good luck out there matey war is all there is around here. Hondill gave him grim he told him that he was going back home until he saw his family killed he saw 300 hundred Nazi soldier walk through our village taking everything and his cousins and uncle ran but only Hondill made it out.




Jared tried to cheer him up.but Jared knew he could trust him because he told me i was the only one that told me the story Jared told him to get some sleep and Jared would keep a look out.suddenly BOMB BANG lots of Bombs were hitting there trenches men getting covered up by dirty men charged without order they only wanted revenge as you could tell by the looks on there face.




Hondill and Jared ran but Jarred had to go back to B HQ and Hondill stayed and fight 2 Days Later Jarred came back to the Trenches but unfortunately there was no sight of Hondill 2 boys at the age of 18 and 16 the 16 year old boy said he was 17 but he was only 16 they came and said we are sent to B base HQ and Jarred said do you know a man name Hondill they said he didn't make it the only way they knew he was dead it was because they only found his head Jarred stayed Quiet over the Delt that he felt because he abandoned him and so Jarred Ask for there names bill was the 18 year old boy Thomas was the 16 year old boy.
